It's a Good Thing I Work...

Today I've been bad. First of all, I just want to say that I know it's pathetic that these are the types of things I blog about, but I don't have a cute baby or anything else very exciting to post about daily, and I'm bored...what can I say? Which leads to the next thing...it's a good thing I'm at work alot of the time because when I'm not, I tend to spend $$. I need to have a purpose or get a project going because on my days off I'm not sure what to do with my time other than shop:). But it's not like I spent a ton of money. I love bargains. I had store credit and a gift card to Crate and Barrel from my wedding, and I decided that today I was going to spend it all no matter what. I'm really proud of my purchases- I got a knife, set of 5 colorful bowls, a 2 tier dessert server, a set of 12 spice jars, and 4 cute black and white dessert plates- all for about $8 over my gift card, including shipping. I can't wait for that package to come in the mail! I also got those Steve Madden boots and my favorite Asics running shoes on sale. I don't think I even spent more than $40 total, but I still need to find another hobby. Any ideas?

Surprise at Work

Today at work I got a little surprise from JD. He sent me these beautiful flowers and it made my day. I was really shocked, not because I don't have a husband that is so dang sweet, but because there was absolutely no reason for him to send them. He just wanted to say thanks for being a great wife. Wow, I'm so lucky and grateful I get to be married to him :).

Back to the Big Island

Ever since it started to snow here in Utah, we've been talking about high-tailing it out of here and going somewhere warm!! Besides the snowboarding, we really can't stand living in the cold. Scraping the windshield after a 12 hour night shift, having anxiety attacks while sliding around on the roads as semi trucks drive by and blind my view, slipping and falling flat on my back on the ice, and not wanting to ever be outside...these are just a few reasons I'll always have California on the mind! As for now, I'm sooo looking forward to spending a week in paradise. We decided to go to the Big Island of Hawaii because we loved it so much when we lived there two summers ago and we found some pretty good deals. We're going with Megan and Josh, and JD's cousins live over there, so I know it will be a blast. Even better, we're going over Valentine's Day, my birthday, and the Chase's anniversary. What timing! I always tell JD that he can't combine V-day and my B-day, but this year I'll forgive him. I can't wait to tan my pasty body...but being in a bathing suit in the middle of winter is a little worrisome!

This is the LIFE

Megan's parents have some friends that live in the most AMAZING house on the Canyon's Resort and they invited us to go snowboarding with them yesterday. Oh and we also stayed the night before in Kamas in the Clark's amazing log cabin they just bought. We are spoiled.

Here's JD sippin on some hot chocolate, taking a break before heading back out. By the way, did I mention we skiied for free!?!? Can it get any better than this?

It was such a gorgeous day. I was in heaven. Can you see the chair lift in the background?

Josh climbing the rock wall. Can you believe that this is inside that house?

JD, desperately needing a haircut.

Wisdom Teeth

Wow, theses are ugly pictures, but my mom wanted me to post some so she could see me post-op. I got all four of my wisdom teeth out last Wednesday, plus some cavities filled, so I've been feeling pretty miserable the past few days. I took some pictures of myself because every time JD looked at me and made me laugh, he would laugh uncontrollably, so I wanted to see what the big deal was. Apparently my left cheek was huge and swollen. I thought I looked like either a chipmunk, a man, or Quasimodo (or however you spell it). I don't know how these huge gaping holes in my mouth are ever going to fill up, but I hope they do...SOON!

Back on Days

I am amazed by how much better I feel working during the day instead of all night. I'm at work right now and I can't believe it's already 3:30! I'm excited to feel like a normal person again and get on a regular sleeping and eating schedule. I'm naturally a morning person, and I'm looking forward to getting up early and working out with JD before he has to go to work. Can you be sore from hitting golf balls at the driving range? My left arm and leg are so sore, and I couldn't figure out why, but then I remembered that JD put me through an intense training session of golf 101, and I think that might be the cause. Sorry JD, maybe I've been wrong about golf not being a workout! After our attempt to "golf," we went to eat at some mediocre Italian restaurant and then to the Jazz game. It was fun because Megs and I dropped the boys off and went to Anthropologie so I could exchanged something for some really cute pants. By the time we got to the game it was the 2nd quarter. At half time we got some expensive Red Mango frozen yogurt with fresh berries and dark chocolate that was sooo good it actually might be better than Goldenspoon, and we left after the 3rd quarter so I could get to bed. That's my kind of NBA game! Short and sweet. Anything that includes shopping and frozen yogurt and I'm happy.

Fun Day

I know I've been totally obsessed with this blogging stuff and JD thinks I'm a computer nerd, but it just takes me so long to figure stuff out and get the right background and my stupid computer is sooo slow! Anyways, today was such a fun day. I didn't have to work and JD hasn't started his new job yet so we went up to Sundance and boarded all day. I had to take this picture at home before we left cuz my camera is too dang big to carry in my pocket. JD is getting better every time he goes, but today he was a little frustrated when Josh and I made him go down a black diamond with us. What a weanie:). j/k, He looks hot out there, and I love that he wants to go all the time with me and loves it too!

Lifelong Friends

It's been almost 5 years since I graduated from highschool. Wow- I'm getting old! Every year, at least during the holidays when we are home, we try to get together with our old group of girls. It seems like as time passes and we all go our separate ways, it gets harder and harder to keep up with what's going on in everyone's lives. But the amazing thing is that when we get together or even just talk on the phone, it's like no time has passed at all. I just think it's so unique to have such a close group of high school friends that I love and care about so much. I had to miss our 5th annual Christmas Party because of work, but I was so glad to get to see everyone, even if it was just for a minute. Thanks for your friendship- you're truly my life long friends!

Finally, A Real Haircut

So I've never cut my hair short before, but while I was home over the break, Jessie convinced me to do it. I cut 10 inches off and donated it to Locks of Love. I don't know if I love the way I look, but I'm happy with myself for being brave and doing something so unlike me!

Adrie's New Years Resolutions

This year I am going to strengthen my relationship with Christ. I want to come to know Him better through scripture study, prayer, serving others, trusting in Him, and relying on Him.

I am going to eat healthy foods and be more consistent with cooking healthy meals and finding new yummy recipes.

I've been reading alot about the power that positive thinking and positive energy have to make the things you want happen in your life. I want to be a more positive person and take time to relax and enjoy everyday of my life.

I want to finish my first triathalon and start a habit of doing at least a few races each year.

My parents gave me this for Christmas and I am going to get really good at using it. I want to learn Photoshop too.

I Love This Face

This is my niece Kamryn Lindsey. She is seriously the cutest thing in the whole world, and I know I'm probably biased, but look at her!! We had so much fun celebrating Christmas and New Years with our families, but it's always so sad to leave and get back to real life. I especially miss this little girl! She is full of sass and is always getting into everything, but we love her every inch.

We have a blog!!

Well, I've been hesitant to start a blog cuz I just don't think anyone really cares about what JD and I do on a daily basis. I was going to wait til we had kids to start one, but that could be a while and I really need to show off my AMAZING new camera I got for Christmas somewhere, so...Here I go!
