My New Best Friend

I don't despise you for being better at rocking my baby to sleep than I am!

Little One Update

Hi everybody. I have a few minutes to blog! It's amazing to me how all consuming a newborn is. Especially one that is very gassy and loves to be held all the time. Anyways, I just got back from the gym and should be showering right now, but I'm gonna try to post this real quick. I've figured out that Maddie will sleep in her car seat, so by going to the gym, it's likely that she'll get a nap in the morning. She was starting to wake up when I got home, so I started the dryer, put her car seat on top, and that's where she is right now, sleeping like a baby :).
Last week was filled with family and taking care of baby. My in-laws came into town to hang out with Maddie and help take care of me. We had a busy first couple of days and then some relaxing days doing nothing but meeting the little one's many needs.
Maddie loves her Grandpa and Grandma White.
Thanks so much for EVERYTHING!
Yesterday I was alone all day and night with the baby. She didn't feel good, and I had my first day of real mommy worry. She had a tummy ache, wasn't eating very much, was really tired, and was just not being herself. Needless to say I called the pediatrician, gave her anything I could to try to make her feel better, called my friend Kyley, the pediatric nurse, and cried to whoever would listen. Last night she started to feel better, so it was a good night.
My tired baby.
This was a few days ago. I took her to Bunco and she slept pretty much the whole time. I was so nervous, but she was a little angel.

I'm amazed by how fast Maddison's changing and growing. She's growing out of her newborn clothes, but most of the 0-3 months are still too big. So we have nothing to wear. Oh well, it's not like we go anywhere :). Last night I was mesmerized watching her sleep. She looked so peaceful and precious, and so much older. I'm torn because I want her to stay little, but I'm looking forward to getting through this tough newborn adjustment stage!

Two Weeks Old and Petti Skirts

Today Maddie had her two week appointment with the pediatrician. He said she was healthy and growing right on track, but she still didn't like him very much. She can be such a little drama queen! She weighs 9lbs 3oz and is 20 inches now. It's amazing how much she changes every day. She's becoming alittle more alert, but still loves to sleep most of the time.
This week I got a fun package in the mail. My cousin Kristine makes these adorable little petti skirts and sent me this tiny cream one and a lime green one for when she's a little bigger. If you're interested in getting one for your little girl, you won't find them cuter or cheaper. Check her out here. This was my attempt to get her to model. She hates being changed, but last night after her bath she actually stayed fairly calm! We have professional pictures on Thursday, so hopefully we can get some cuter ones.
Brrrr, I'm cold!

She better hurry and put a diaper on me...
Uh-oh, just peed.
OK, enough mom!
I just love this face.

She's so precious.

Sportin one of mommy's onesies.
First time going to church.
So comfy in the carseat.

The past two weeks have been full of joyful little moments for us. Yes, there have been a few sleepless nights and difficult moments too, but we are loving Maddison more and more each day. It already makes me sad that she's getting big. Well, gotta go feed her again. That's my life now :).

Meeting Papa

Wednesday night my dad came into town to meet Maddison. She was in heaven all sprawled out on his chest and he loved every minute (well hour) of it. Sheer comfort. I think she actually got a little too comfortable sleeping on papa cuz now she doesn't like to sleep any where but on somebody's chest. We're working on that today. We loved having my mom and dad here.

Last night was kinda rough. We didn't get much sleep because Maddie was just uncomfortable. We think she had a tummy ache, plus she wouldn't stay asleep in the pack n play. So this morning all three of us were finally conked out, and my parents didn't want to wake us to say goodbye. When I woke up and realized they were gone, I started bawling. I knew I'd cry when they left. I just appreciate all that my mom did to help make the adjustment easier and make sure I was taken care of. Thanks mom. You're the best.

Friends

The other night we had a little get together with some friends. Megs and Josh brought dinner and a cake for Katey B's birthday. Savannah and Maddie met for the first time. It's amazing how much babies change in 6 months!

Our Sweet Angel

Here are some pictures of our first week at home with Maddie. She has been so precious and we're loving every minute. Basically all she does is eat, sleep, poop, and be irresistable. It's amazing how all consuming she is though. I'll start the day off with one or two things I want to accomplish and end up not even getting those things done! It's crazy, but so nice to just be able to focus on my baby. Enjoy the pictures!
